Nerikiri Wagashi Making Workshop (Evening Session)
Wagashi, is a general term for Japanese traditional confectionaries, also known as Japanese sweets, usually served along with a cup of matcha. Wagashi is no stranger to us, some of the commonly known to many of us are mochi and dorayaki.
Nerikiri wagashi, bean paste based confectionary, handcrafted in various colour, shapes and designs according to season. It is soft to taste for it is made with fine bean paste (outer layer), usually filled with adzuki bean paste – should be indulged in small bites.
There are many techniques and skills involved in nerikiri crafting, which the lesson can be quite intensive and challenging for some. However, for the first time ever, we have put together an introductory class for those who would like to experience nerikiri crafting the easy breezy way. No cooking or baking skills/experience required.
